Can you smell that??? It's game day.

So every Saturday that OSU plays football my sister and I have a battle as to who can call each other first and ask the other "Can you smell that?.....It's game day." She has even stooped so low as to have her twin girls leave it on my voicemail. I end up changing the rules in some way so as to win because I was the one who started the competition and I don't like to lose.

All that said, I love game day. It has a certain feel about it. I played in the band at OSU and there was nothing like the feel of game day. I love the anticipation, the smell of the fall morning, the crisp air, the buzz of people milling around setting up the tailgate....the calm before the storm and roar of the sea of orange.

So tomorrow is game day and my Cowboys are headed up to Mizzou to take on the Tigers. I have a cigar wager on the game with a very good friend and sales mentor Phil (a big Mizzou fan). My outward hopes aren't up. My inner hopes are that we go up there and steal one. Recent history doesn't play into the Cowboys favor but one thing is for sure. You can't count these Cowboys out. The can score with the best of them and I am praying(as if God answers prayers about football) that our defense can step up and make some plays. We have to smack the booger eater around a bit. If we get a lead we have to stay aggressive and keep from folding like the proverbial "cheap tent."

I will say that I think the line of 14 is too large especially in this day and age of college football were anyone can jump up and steal one (ie.....the other OSU(Oregon State) and USC.) So count on the Cowboys to bring it tomorrow even though I'm tempering my outward swager. ;)

GO POKES!!!
